Duplexers

Close-up of the duplexers. The green bottle
in the background is empty, but usually holds
nitrogen to pressurize the hardline coax and
keep water from getting in it.

W5AC-2 Digipeater

Digi

This is our whole digipeater setup, converted
from a RoseNET node that had fallen into disuse.
At the bottom level is the power supply: unknown
brand, but it makes a nice, loud hum. Above that
is the laptop, donated by a club member, running
Digi-Ned software on SuSE Linux 8.1. Next is
the TNC. Simple little MFJ-1270B with TAPR 1.19
firmware in KISS mode. Up top is the radio, a
2m mobile. 5 Watts out right now until we solve
the slightly-higher-than-wanted SWR.
Comms closet

Closet

This is the communication and networking
closet that houses our digi. We're not sure
how much of that wiring is still in use.
You can also see the orange fiber-optic
cable coming into the closet. It's main-
tained by Texas A&M's CIS department
and is currently off limits for us.

Not pictured - Dangers of radio work
Those shelves in the digi case are sharp! Look out.
